“Grant understands that paragliding is won in the mind, not with gear. He's doing great things for the paragliding community by bringing the science of flow to the forefront with Wingmates.”
Does this sound familiar?
The plateau
You know what your best flying feels like. You just can't find your way back to it.
The confidence
You have the skills. You've had the lessons. The confidence still isn't there.
The numbers
The flying that used to feel like freedom now feels like a performance review.
None of these are skill problems. They are interference problems. And interference can be removed.
Wingmates is built around a four-part practice. Not a curriculum you work through once — a cycle you return to each month, each season, each time you want to fly closer to your ceiling.
Get clear on the pilot you're becoming, not just the pilot you are. Identity-based direction — where you're going and why it matters to you.
Apply the mental tools in the air, not just in theory. Fear work, flow practice, and composure under pressure — taken to the hill.
Use the community as a mirror. Structured post-flight reflection surfaces the patterns that solo flight logs miss.
Make the shifts permanent. Rewire the patterns that keep pulling you back to the same landing.
“After my only son died in 2018, my life lost its meaning. Paragliding brought me back to life five years ago. You suggested a way to return to myself. I find your practical advice on stabilizing my psycho-emotional state most valuable.”

Hey, I'm Grant
I'm a qualified paragliding instructor, guide, and accomplished XC pilot. I'm completing the ICF Flow Coaching certification with The Flow Centre — training to become the world's first paragliding flow coach.
My method follows the tradition of Gallwey's Inner Game. Not more instruction — removing the interference that is already in the way. When the noise is cleared, pilots discover they already know how to fly. The work is in getting out of your own way.
Most coaching focuses on technique. This doesn't. The gap between the flying you want and the flying you do is not technical. It's mental.
“This has become more than just a flight skill — it's a way of being. I feel a pervasive sense of calm and a significant reduction in mental noise, noticing the difference even in mundane tasks like driving. I've developed a new relationship with fear and anxiety, recognising them not as stop signs, but as energy to be transformed and utilised.”
